The people that live in the Appalachia Region of West Virginia are precious, hardworking people that are doing there very best to provide for their families
in an impoverished climate. With the collapse of the coal mining industry
several years ago, many families have struggled to secure the very basics to sustain life. Because of the harsh terrain, other industries and corporations
failed to invest in the region leaving men and women without the opportunity
to secure other employment.
The mission of ADC is to provide, under gird and support these families with
food, education, services and manpower while meeting some of their basic needs. As an individual coming to ADC, your ministry to the people will
depend upon the skills that you offer. There is much to be done! Painting, plumbing, repair work to porches, doors, roofs and automobiles, teaching
literacy and computer skills, feeding hot meals to the elderly, giving boxes
of food to families, the list goes on and on and on. That is why your
participation is so very important at this time!

- Building: 40,000 square feet on 1.8 acres; 3 floors and full basement; 10 offices; 27 sleep rooms; 4 restrooms with
showers; commercial grade kitchen, 500 seat dining hall,
medical and vision clinic; food storage for 10 semis; freight elevator
- Value: $4,000,000; donated by Massey Coal Company
- Previous Use: offices and company store for 50 years +
· Your Opportunities to Minister
- Onsite Ministries - 1,300 hot meals served per month; 250 – prepared per month; marriage, occupational and career counseling; medical and vision clinics; beauty salon; Sunday School Breakfast for 100 children per week; monthly youth retreats and children’s crusades
- Community Ministries - 300 hot meals delivered per month;
home repairs; adopt-a-block program; community service
agency; senior citizens part-time job referral; auto repair; jail ministry; released inmates follow-up program; mom’s day out program
- Misc. Ministries - food distribution center for area churches
– 1 semi per month; Logan County designated disaster center
- Ministry Needs - beauty supplies; hygiene products; diapers; cleaning supplies; bed frames; tables; chairs.
